John W. Kling, 89, peacefully passed away on February 23, 2026, surrounded by love and cherished memories. Born on September 8, 1936, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, John lived a life rich with meaning, devotion, and passion.

As the beloved husband of the late Eileen (nee Dennison), John was a constant source of love and strength for his family. He is survived by his companion Daun Willard, his daughter Jacqueline Gartner (David), and his son Paul Kling (Joanne), along with his adored grandchildren: Rachel, Paul Jr., Sarah, Emily, and David. John was preceded in death by his parents, William and Florence Kling, and his beloved siblings, Frank and Joan.

John was a proud veteran of the Army. His tenure in the military marked the beginning of a life dedicated to service, a commitment he carried into his career. John served as the Comptroller at Research for Better Schools, where he contributed at the heart of the non-profit sector, passionately working for the betterment of education.

John was an unparalleled father and grandfather, wrapping his family in unwavering support and affection. An avid outdoorsman, he found serenity in nature, particularly enjoying the tranquil beauty of Susquehanna County, where he cherished hunting and fishing. Although, truth be told, he preferred fishing in the ocean or the bay. A devoted athlete, John played on a Senior Softball team with his twin brother Frank well into his 80s, earning admiration for his sportsmanship and unwavering spirit.Faith was the cornerstone of John's life. As a devout Catholic, he regularly attended Mass, finding peace in his spirituality that shaped his daily actions and interactions.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet John's family on Saturday, March 14, 2026 beginning at 9 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at 119 Rector Street, Philadelphia, PA 19127. A Memorial Mass will follow at 10:30 AM, where family, friends, and the community will gather to honor his legacy. Interment in Westminster Cemetery.

In his passing, John leaves behind a rich tapestry of love, faith, and enduring memories, reminding us all to cherish our time with family and the beauty of nature. His spirit will forever echo in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
